I’m glad you were my Dad 

You were a true gent, always hellbent, on pleasing others, Your charm, kind and gentle nature commanded respect, these are, but a few of the qualities, we came to expect.

The prospect of not achieving, was never your fear.  You had a top job, as an air traffic engineer!  

Being the youngest,I had an easier ride, but you always praised me and looked at me with pride.

During my time of being your carer, we still had a giggle and had some fun, I kept my promise and didn’t tell Mum.

Throughout your suffering, of this terrible disease, you remained polite and eager to please. You are the person I aspire to be, now you are at peace, now you are free!

Such a hero, such a legend! Happy or sad, I’m glad you were my Dad!
